Discover how our jewelry is made
Step into our world and discover how our handcrafted jewelry is created, with passion and meticulous attention to detail. Each creation from Méandre des Rêves is born from a poetic inspiration, then brought to life through techniques combining wax sculpting and 3D design, blending tradition and modernity.
Our jewelry is imagined as true fragments of stories. Working with wax allows us to sculpt the material with precision and sensitivity, while 3D modeling offers endless creative freedom and exceptional detail. Every step, from design to final finishing, is carefully carried out to create unique, durable pieces filled with emotion.
We pay special attention to the choice of materials and the quality of finishes, in order to offer original jewelry that stands the test of time. Behind each creation lies true craftsmanship and a desire to transform an idea into a meaningful piece.
By discovering our creation process, you step behind the scenes of a world where imagination meets technique, and where each piece of jewelry tells a story… perhaps soon yours.
How to Work with Wax to Create Jewelry
Working with wax is an essential technique in artisan jewelry making, particularly used in the lost-wax casting process. It allows the creation of unique forms with great creative freedom and remarkable precision.
It all begins with the choice of wax, usually a special jewelry wax that is both flexible and durable. This material is easy to shape using tools such as scalpels, files, or rotary tools, allowing the artisan to carve, hollow, and refine even the smallest details.
The artisan then shapes the wax like a true sculpture: adding material, removing it, smoothing surfaces, or creating textures. This step requires patience and precision, as the wax model accurately represents the final piece of jewelry.
Once the shape is complete, the wax model is used to create a mold. During casting, the wax is heated and melts away, leaving a cavity into which molten metal (such as silver or gold) is poured. This process perfectly captures the details of the original model.
After casting, the raw piece is retrieved and then refined: cleaning, polishing, and adjustments are carried out until the jewelry is ready to be worn.
Working with wax offers both an artistic and technical approach, making it ideal for creating unique, organic, and highly detailed jewelry.
How Jewelry Is Created Using 3D Design
Creating jewelry using 3D design is a modern technique that allows for exceptional precision and limitless creativity. It combines digital innovation with traditional craftsmanship to bring unique and intricate pieces to life.
The process begins with 3D modeling using specialized software. Each piece of jewelry is carefully designed on a computer, where every curve, texture, and detail can be adjusted with great accuracy. This step allows the artisan to experiment freely and refine the design before moving to production.
Once the digital model is complete, it is brought into the physical world through 3D printing, often using a resin specifically developed for jewelry making. This printed model serves as the base for the next stage of the process.
Just like in traditional methods, the 3D-printed model is then used in a casting process. The model is placed in a mold, and when heated, the material burns away, leaving a cavity into which molten metal—such as silver or gold—is poured. This ensures that every detail from the digital design is faithfully reproduced.
After casting, the piece is carefully finished by hand: cleaning, polishing, and refining every detail until the final jewelry piece is ready to be worn.
3D jewelry design offers a perfect balance between technology and craftsmanship, enabling the creation of precise, innovative, and highly detailed pieces while preserving the soul of handmade jewelry.
